Hi everyone. Thanks for stopping by my blog Dish Detox. The title has two meanings. First, it’s the simple meaning of figuring out how to detoxify foods and recipes we love by swapping in healthier all-natural, non-GMO and organic options for everyday cooks. The second refers to my old “Access Hollywood” moniker “Dish of Salt.” The “Dish” also refers to my life in general and how I’m trying to detoxify everything in my life from food to fitness, relationships and everything in between.
I have been thinking about starting a blog since my brother Jason died of stomach cancer in November 2013. He was a true minimalist and a believer in eating all natural, growing whatever food you can and never wasting it. He was an environmentalist who wanted to help heal what society has done to nature in order to preserve it for our future. Wherever he is now, I’m sure he still continues his work. Here on earth though I’ve taken it upon myself to educate even further on issues that were important to him so I can spread his word.
I am currently studying to become a certified holistic nutritionist and on this site you will find articles on issues and topics that are important when it comes to health, environment, fitness, mindfulness and the nature of humanity.
I am proud to say that since starting my detoxed, non-GMO, organic lifestyle in February 2014, I have been able eradicate my lifelong battle with the auto immune disorder psoriasis. I have also lost all my post pregnancy baby weight after a three year battle with it. Holistic health really does work.
Lastly, the internet can be a great source of information but also a great source of frustration… please always remember to use your words wisely.
