I have taken an extended break from writing about holistic health because I myself needed to get healthy. Having gone through the devastating loss of my brother and father in the span of less than two years, dealing with infertility and now divorce has taken a toll on my psyche. I’ve been studying spirituality now for the last year through the most incredible teacher and I find myself in a new place with a new perspective. Two weeks ago, I gave a Keynote Speech at Connect Her 16, a conference for female bloggers, brands, influencers and entrepreneurs. It was all about empowering other women to get motivated and move towards success. A year ago, I was sitting in the conference feeling sorry for myself and this year I was the speaker motivating women to go out and forge their own path in life. It felt amazing. It felt like I was right where I belong.
I think a lot of people don’t share their stories for fear of being judged, especially with the way the internet haters are constantly on the attack of everyone and everything. I now know that fear is not necessary and that I choose to share my story with love, as a means to help other people going through tough times. I am focusing this blog now on my spiritual endeavors. I know now beyond a shadow of a doubt that we are the creators of our lives through our thoughts. Wayne Dyer, Marianne Williamson, Esther Hicks, Deepak Chopra, Louise Hay, Gabrielle Bernstein, Edwene Gaines and so many other incredible thought leaders have been my guides as well as my teacher through the Agape Center, Kim Stanwood Terranova – a spiritual counselor who has changed my life and many others through her work.
In the past year, I have seen definitively that what we think about we create. My notebooks and phone are filled with signs and messages I have received over the course of the last year from the universe. I have written them down. I have taken pictures. Some day I will write a book and share my stories with the world. My intention is to speak my truth to people everywhere, so that they too can begin to change their own lives. My life is not perfect right now. It’s still messy. It’s got many loose ends and threads to still tie up but I am honored to know that the universe has got my back and is guiding me to my true purpose in life. I have so much gratitude in my heart for all the guidance coming my way and for having the chance to share it as a teacher, mentor and motivational speaker.
Four or five months ago, I began sharing inspirational quotes on my Instagram and Twitter pages. This week I asked for guidance and through automatic writing have been infused with my own inspirational quotes and I’m so excited to begin sharing those here and on social media. Above is my first one. It refers to how the habit of negative self talk keeps us stuck in the same patterns over and over whether in relationships, career or self care. When you stop being the person you have always been and step into knowing that your thoughts deep within are what guide your life and practicing staying in that knowing, you can become the real you and live a happier life.
Love to you all – Laura
